Our Story
About Melissa Whiteman
Having grown up in the Midwest storms were a fundamental part of life. Spring and summer would arrive producing sometimes violent and severe storms bringing with them an excitement hard to explain, much like the unexplained forces that cause these events. Over the years I began to build an appreciation for the raw power they held. That appreciation turned into an obsession.
With no other way to express my awe for these unseen forces, I began to paint storms. Much like the storm, each painting from beginning to end evolves and changes, sometimes turbulently but always with the hope that it will capture the fleeting beauty of ever changing skies. I truly hope people enjoy my oil paintings on a level comparable to that of my inspiration.
